For current and prospective Globus users, this tutorial will show participants how to create and configure a server endpoint, how to configure the endpoint for access using existing identity systems, how to control access beyond filesystem defaults, and review other common configuration scenarios. We will also provide time for group discussion on critical issues related to security and integration with campus identity systems such as InCommon.

We will introduce the Globus Platform-as-a-Service and describe how it may be used to deliver unique data management capabilities in your own applications. This will include an overview of common use cases such as data publication/distribution, orchestration of data flows, etc., a description of the platform architecture, and a brief overview of available platform services. We will demonstrate the Globus Transfer API using a Jupyter notebook that attendees can use as a starting point for further experimentation.
