CASC (the Coalition for Academic Scientific Computation) is dedicated to advocating the use of the most advanced computing technology to accelerate scientific discovery among its member institutions, which include many of the nation's largest research universities. The themes of the CASC Fall Meeting are HIPAA, Clouds and "After Hardware, What?". Ian Foster will present Globus service for genomics analysis.

Ian Foster joins other community leaders in discussing how cloud computing is transforming research. Ian will focus on Globus Genomics, the software-as-a-service for next-generation sequencing analysis. Globus Genomics combines the robust data management services of Globus with the elastic computing capacity of Amazon Web Service, and the flexibility of the Galaxy workflow system to deliver simple yet powerful NGS analysis capabilities to research labs of all shapes and sizes.
