CHPC National Conference
- TBA
Globus is presenting a workshop at this year's Centre for HPC National Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa:
- Title: Simplifying Research Data Management with Globus
- Date/Time: Thursday Dec. 5, 2019 (see programme for details)
- Abstract: In this workshop we will describe and demonstrate Globus capabilities that support data management throughout the research lifecycle. System administrators will learn about installing and configuring Globus endpoints at their institutions, while developers will learn how the Globus APIs provide intuitive access to authentication, authorization, sharing, transfer, and synchronization capabilities. We will use web applications, command line tools, Jupyter notebooks and virtual machines to demonstrate and allow participants to experiment with the service in various forms. We will also provide numerous examples and open source code that you can adapt to realize your own research data portals, science gateways, and other web applications for supporting research data workflows.
The 13th annual CHPC Conference programme will include national and international contributions as well as contributions from the National Cyberinfrastructure System (NICIS): the South African National Research Network (SANReN) and the Data Intensive Research Initiative of South Africa (DIRISA). The 1st and 5th December will be tutorials and workshops, while the main conference will be 2–4 December. Once again, the South African Development Community (SADC) HPC Collaboration Forum will form part of the conference to discuss the SADC HPC framework and implementation plans.
